My Favorites: Moisturizer

When I was an impressionable teenager with excessively oily skin, I read an article about the importance of using moisturizer for all skin types. I decided I needed moisturizer. And so started my obsession with skincare for oily skin.

Obviously, my skincare needs have changed since then. I’m now in my mid-20s, I’ve moved away from humid Hawaii, and my skin is more combination than oily. These are the moisturizers that I love for my combination skincare routine.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask

This stuff has been majorly hyped up for good reason. It smells amazing, has an oddly satisfying texture, and it leaves your skin soft and glowy. I’ve reviewed this in a previous blog, and I really do love it. I’ve already bought a new jar!

Elizavecca Milky Piggy EGF Elastic Retinol Cream
(That’s a mouthful)

I bought this on a whim in Koreatown while I was waiting for the fiance to finish his hair appointment. Cute packaging aside, this stuff boasts pure retinol and swiftlet nest extract along with EGF (epidermal growth factor) to help diminish the appearance of wrinkles and even out elastic skin texture and tone. My skincare routine at this age is mostly preventative, but I really have noticed that my skin is plumper and smoother since using this. It also has a fascinating marshmallow fluff-like texture that I love.

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

The original Moisture Surge formula was my holy grail in high school. It was perfect for my oily skin. The new 72-Hour version claims to deliver almost twice as much hydration at the end of the day than it did before. And yes, it is still perfect. I still love it, especially since the new formula fits my new skin type so well. I know I can trust this stuff to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.

Have you tried any of these moisturizers? Share your favorites with me!
